LTI XENON LAMPS ILLUMINATE EIFFEL TOWER AT FÊTE DE LEUROPE
July 2006
BALDWIN PARK, CA July 2006 Lighting Technologies International is pleased to announce that 80 of its xenon lamps were used to illuminate the Eiffel Tower in vivid shades of blue for Fête de lEurope, or Europe Day, on May 9, 2006, commemorating the day in 1950 that the first move was made towards the creation of what is now known as the European Union.
The difficult task of lighting the Eiffel Tower was undertaken by LTIs customer Sky-Light, based in France. Experts in the art of large scale architectural lighting, Sky Light lit the four sides of the Eiffel Tower with 72 of LTIs Helios® xenon lamps and illuminated the internal base of the tower using eight 4000W LTI xenon lamps. The result was that the normally brown iron structure was transformed into a vivid shade of blue, a difficult task due to the large scale of the Tower, as well as the fact that its surface is not flat.
